Golden Ducat „Sveti Stefan“ It was made in honour of Saint Stephen – the first Christian martyr, deacon and preacher of the Gospel, who became a symbol of true devotion to God through his faith and composure. In Serbian tradition, Saint Stephen holds a special place as the protector of family, home and community, and his day is celebrated as one of the most important winter feasts.
The ducat depicts Saint Stephen with a halo and a palm of martyrdom, rendered in refined relief with carefully shaped details that highlight his serenity and spiritual strength. The golden sheen of the ducat further emphasises the symbolism of eternal light and faith.
